Lexapro helped my depression a few years back when both Wellbutrin and another did not work out well for me. Lexapro did help my depression but I felt it kind of brought me to a mellow happy medium. I wasn't back to being excited about everything and being full of life, but I could get through the normal day fine and was overall happy. It got my life back on track. I have been on Lexapro for a little over six months. I have gained 9 lbs mostly belly fat, also been having night sweats and almost daily breaking out in the hives on my hands and feet.

I have been using this drug for two years. Periods of short depression have lessened by about 75%. I have only had one side effect, decreased libido. Two years ago, was very active with my mate. Since beginning Lexapro, absolutely NO desire. Testosterone checked...normal. Everything still works, but the desire is gone. If you want to accept that, then it is worth the price. Good luck.
