Gained twenty pounds in five months despite same diet and exercise program as before Lexapro. Girlfriends loved it. I could litterally make love all night, if I'd wanted to.

Suicidal thinking was gone after about 10 days on 20mg. I find that 20mg is the dose-not the 10mg; @ least for me. The cognitive therapy (CBT) helps-teaches me what to listen to inside my head, and what is part of the depressive thinking and to disregard. Just popping these pills is the start. I was at my heaviest when I was on Lexapro. I was not diagnosed with bipolor at the time. I now understand that I need to be on a good mood stabilizer to benefit from a SSRI. I had, however, switched to taking solely Zoloft about a year later. I did not experience the massive weight gain like I did with Lexapro. It took me months to lose all that weight.
