I took it over 10years ago and by far only way to guarantee no more pimples or at least few n far between :)) me my younger brother and mom have all taken and had amazing results !!

my dermatologist started me on accutane 20 mg once a day for 5 days ,stop for 2 days ,and on for 5days for one month. does this sound correct to treat acne. Should he have given me 2 doses , iam 95 lbs

I understood going into this that the drug had severe side effects. Before I took the drug, I was suicidal from low self esteem due to the severity of the acne. So I felt I had nothing to lose! I took the drug in my late 20's. I am now in my mid-late 50's. I've experienced plenty of the negative side effects. I have hyperpigmentation in my legs which makes them look dirty. I to accurate 30 years ago when I was 18 years old after suffering severe cystic acne for 5 years and trying every treatment available. Finally a derm that's was a customer at the store I worked at told me he thought he could help me clear my skin with a new drug that just came available.....accuatane. Battled cystic acne since i was 13 (i'm 33), and I'm on my third round of accutane. Round one of the brand name drug worked wonders in 5 months and I was pimple free for two years. Only side effect was constipation and dry skin plus of course the breakout period, then 2 years later I had twin babies and my acne cysts came back in full force.
