I started taking this BC before becoming sexually active. Before taking Loestrin I had mood swings and cramping the week before my period. I have taken loestrin about a year now and have noticed less cramping, lighter periods. After 14 months on Lutera, my doctor switched me to Loestrin Fe 1/20 because of my severe onset of acne. Apparently the estrogen build up in my system caused some extremely horrible acne. In the 6 weeks I was on Loestrin Fe, my acne was COMPLETELY cleared up.
