This medication could cause you to gain weight very quickly! I was on Paxil from June 2004 through December 2006 and during that time gained 50 lbs. No other changes in appetite or exercise. When i tried to take off weight, it was very difficult. My doctor finally changed me to Cymbalta when she realized that I had ballooned in weight and she thought that the Paxil ahd something to do with it. ... Show Full Comment

I have been taking this med for 6 years now and it has really helped me stay at a happy medium. Before taking it, I was very depressed and not at all active and now I do feel much better, more likeable and enjoy life more. Dr. Has had me on 20mg. for 30 yrs. I am now 78 and think I should be off.. I also take 0.5 Klonopin twice a day for my Panic anxiety.. I feel like I could be off the Paxil??and take Klonopin when I am sad or anxious..

I have excema and this medicine has made it a little worse. Also, sensitive to sun now that I am on 20 mg 3x day. Otherwise, it has saved my life~!

I was started on 30mg of Paxil about a week ago. Within an hour of my first dose, I became dizzy, had a heaache, had no appetite (I only had one piece of toast all day), my food tasted like cardboard, evey bite of food made me want to throw up, I was nausous all weekend.
