I just stated this prescription so we shall see how it works... I am a active 60 year old female blessed with the high cholesteral gene :( With that I can't get my LDL any lower even with my CAVEMAN eating habits and regular gym time. Statins pull COQ10 out of our muscles and therfore I should take COQ10 supplement. I am not taking the supplement and I will see how it goes with my second round of taking a statin. Hope this posts helps others!

I've been having quite a bit of muscle pain, and after taking 40mg of Pravastatin for several months, I decided to really research this drug. (I am a 59yr old female.) I can echo so many of the symptoms reported here! I've been having quite a bit of muscle pain, and after taking 40mg of Pravastatin for several months, I decided to really research this drug. (I am a 59yr old female.) I can echo so many of the symptoms reported here! Muscle aches to the point of pain (ankles, feet, arms, shoulders...I can barely reach around to hook/unhook my bra - it hurts to do that), almost constant tingling in my hands, itchy palms, ringing in my ears, tired all the time - I could nap at the drop of a hat...but my cholesterol is great! I had a dr appt last week, and told her my symptoms and she more or less paid very little attention to my complaints. I'm NOW wondering if Pravastin may be to blame! I am going to stop taking it cold turkey today and see if my aches and pains improve!!
