When I first started taking it I was taking 5mg in the morning and night, I gained weight, and couldn't sleep, but it helped my thyroid gland to get back on track, it's been 9 months and I'm taking the meds once a day 10mg. I am very happy with this medication. I take with a beta blocker as well for my extremely overactive thyroid. The only noticable side effect so far has been weight gain. 15 lbs in a month and a half. I am more active and stay in my calorie range so I should be maintaining or even losing a little. But I feel so much better that it is worth it.
