I have dermatomyositis. Percoset was perscribed to help with pain. So far, I feel like it has just been a "bandaid". I don't believe my doctor is using it properly with regard to the disease. I know that I have to live with a certain amount of pain regardless, but is it normal to have so much residual pain after taking the prescribed dosage and how do I talk with my doctor?

Comment:
I have sciatic nerve pain associated with the herniated L-4/5 lumbar disc and this drug, although effective for the pain, is difficult to stop taking because of the withdrawal. I only quit taking it so i could continue flying (privately), and the three to five days after I quit taking it were days i would like to forget forever. Be careful, this drug is physically and mentally addictive.

I have cronic headaches and this drug has been the only one to help me deal with the pain. Only side affect is a good one. I seem to have more energy and I have better concentration.
