First I must note, since this doesn't seem a very thorough description of Siberian Ginseng - "ELEUTHERO (known formerly as Siberian Ginseng) is not a member of the Ginseng genus. However, similar to true Ginsengs, Eleuthero increases stamina, endurance, and performance. It enhances physical and mental energy and helps to maintain and improve immunity that is weakened by chronic stress. Eleuthero i...

Eleuthero is extremely popular with athletes for its effects on energy and recovery and is often used as a non-hormone, non-stimulant training aid. Like American Ginseng, Eleuthero is an adaptogen that is cooler than the more stimulating, warming Asian Ginseng." As reported by a training offered by Herb Pharm, a leading tincture producer. I started taking Eleuthero as part of a daily regime when I was suffering from PTSD after my brother suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. My mind and body were constantly foggy and fatigued. I was forgetting names of people I knew well. Upon adding Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng) into my repertoire, the fog began to lift and I felt like I had my body back! I am not suffering so horribly from the PTSD anymore, but I continue to take this supplement when I'm tired or fatigued and have to keep going. It's a nice, clean energy without the hot jitters that caffeine seems to induce. I enjoy taking Herb Pharm's supplement, as it's a reputable company, organic, and has no nasty addatives. I took the suggested dose of Siberian Ginseng (in capsule form - a familiar brand carried by many health/nutrition stores) and had a severe allergic reaction. I had taken it before bed and was awoken by stinging, tearing eyes. I went to the bathroom mirror and saw that my eyes were very red and swollen. I tried to go back to sleep to no avail as the pain became steadily greater. I looked again at my eyes and the swelling had become much worse, with a great deal of pressure felt in my eyes. I was terrified. I went to the emergency room, received treatment for allergic reaction, and was back to normal the next morning. But that experience was alarming enough that I will not be taking this supplement ever again.Read More Read Less
