i have been taking this medication for over thirty years and i have had no ill side affects.with out it i have severe hotflashes which wake me 3-4 time during the night leaving me tired during the day. i transport special needs children and cannot afford to be grogy during the day. my bone density is excellent for my age and i believe the premerin is partly the reasoni realize each person is diff ... I had a complete hysterectomy in 2000 at the age of 24. I started out with 1.25 dose for one year, then went to .625mgs for a couple of years, and have now been on .43mgs for about 11 years. I am 48 now, and take this medication every other day, and it is enough for me. After years of pain from severe endometriosis I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago with one ovary remaining. This past fall I had to have the remaining ovary taken out. On top of the girl issues, I have developed chronic constipation. I had to have a bowl resection because the endo. kinked my bowls. Premarin caused me to gain 15 pounds and my breasts to grow, even though it helped with hot flashes, I stopped cold turkey after 6 years and I have lost 5 pounds in the first month with no other changes...Premarin makes you a fat dairy cow, I would rather have the hot flashes...treat with peppermint oil and avoid hot drinks and alcohol
