I have taken cholestramine for chronic diarrhea. I have to take a full scoop every morning. If I don't take it one day, the diarrhea comes back.

Very difficult to take, even mixed with applesauce. I find that fixing the applesauce earlier than needed, and then frigerating for awhile, helps it to go down better.

To ease drinking, I let it dissolve on top of a little warm water, then mix some thick juice like mango and non dairy coconut kefir. Then use a mini whisk to blend it! It totally solved my bile induced diarrhea! A lifesaver!

I just took it for my first time so i'm giving 5 stars for now. But i just want to prepare everyone for this stuff. It can be life changing for many people, but man, even if you can drink nasty stuck like alcohol shots like water.. this has gotta be the hardest thing i've had to swallow. It really is like grabbing a handful of sand and mixing it with water lol For me personally, I instantly got nauseated which is unusual for me. I read that there are pill forms.. I might ask my doctor about thatRead More Read Less

I could not leave my house and if I did, I always had to find the restroom. I had urgency and accidents. But now I can go out, shop and do the things I used to do like fishing and boat rides. It is great to get my life back. I am so happy. I have been living with this for years.

This medicine is effective for me if it is the first medicine I take in the morning. It reacts with my blood pressure and heart medicine where my dosage has been increase. If I have an appointment it is always late morning so the diarrhea can be contained and I can get pass the gas and stomach pain. The rest of my day is good I don't get hungry but when I eat the gas is back and the stomach pain but no diarrhea.

I couldn't go out without fear of a diarrhea attack. Since on the med, the attacks have been few and far between. I had colon cancer witch lead to the problem in the first place, I don't know what I would do without it.

I couldn't go out the house before and was living off immodium but I haven't had to take any since starting.this medication. Because it has to be dissolved in water it is a pain to take when I'm out but otherwise it works ok. Still not perfect but much better!

Begore I took this drug I was not able to leave my house due to immediate diarrhea. No at least I am able to leave the house and work. I still have diarrhea but I can make it to the bathroom. I know some people can not tolerate the taste, but I have no problem at all.

I took this drug once and stopped after drinking half of it. I felt like gagging, throwing up, nausea, and it seemed to be sticking to the mucus in my throat. Did not dissolve and was very gritty. Forty-five minutes after just half, I had a very loose stool even though I had a regular one just after rising. My stomach was upset for most of the day. If I could have rated it lower, it would have gotten a negative number.

This is the most unpleasant drug that i have ever taken. It is like driking a cup of beach sand and then trying to get the sand out of your teeth. The 4gm dose did essentialy nothing for the blood levels of cholesterol and I am taking 8 gms. I see no logical reason for my problems, but the sciatica has been exacerbated by it, as it was when I took the statin drugs. There is also pain on sitting, unless I have a very firm foam cushion, as the ischial tuberosities feel bruised. Could this be? I am wondering if anyone else has experienced such problems with questran and the statin drugs. My leg muscles are really damaged by the statin drugs and that is the reason that I quit taking those and switched to cholestramine. JayRead More Read Less
