I initially started Wellbutrin at 300 mg/day (150 mg twice per day) in 2005 along with Celexa at 20 mg due to depression and anxiety. I eventually stopped taking Wellbutrin when my Celexa dose was increased to 60 mg which appeared to be the right dose/medication for me. I was recently reduced to 40 mg of Celexa due to new studies that no more than 40 mg should be taken due to risk of heart issues/ ... Show Full Comment

I have been taking Wellbutrin XL 300 mg for about 5 weeks now (started on 150 mg). This has been much more effective than any other antidepressant I've taken. In the past 20 years I've been on Prozac, Celexa, Zoloft (with and without Abilify) and also Deplin. I've found this drug to take a long time to kick in, and have short-lasting results. The effectiveness in treating my mood disorder was great in the beginning, but decreased rather rapidly after about the four month mark. I am currently exploring other medications with my GP.

I have been on Wellbutrin XL for two years 325mg but have found that the meds effect is not working for me. I can say at the start, the med worked very well but I have been on the same dose too long and will be seeing my PCP to adjust. I would recommend to those who are suffers.
