I know that it takes about three months to adjust to a new pill, and i totally get that. However, this pill was AWFUL. I took it for 8 days. Eight whole days of misery - mood swings, cystic acne/bacne, depression, crying spells, trouble sleeping, not to mention that my libido was killed instantly. It was ridiculous. I just couldn't stick it out for one more day let alone three months (i've got two kids and mom's can't be "sick"). So i stopped taking it, and the withdrawal is just as terrible as the pill in that i have a headache at the base of my skull that just won't quit, and nausea.

I am on my 5th month on this. The first three months I noticed periods were lighter, but still lasted 7 days. By the third month, I got breakthrough bleeding that lasted 3 weeks (no fun!) this month, there was no breakthrough bleeding, so hopefully my body has adjusted. I have experienced nausea and thrown up a few times in the morning, even though I take my pill at night. The morning nausea is especially bad if i drank alcohol the night before ( this was more than a hangover, I never experienced throwing up like this before) but as soon as puke, i feel 100% normal. I have experienced some weight gain of about 5 lbs, and this has not helped with acne. overall, i will take the side effects over being pregnant any day. This is the first time I have been on birth control.

So far i haven't had any crazy bad side effects, i did break out but im not even sure thats due to the birth control. I never once got nauseous and havent had break through bleeding yet. User for 7 months now. Doesn't add weight but makes my boobs bigger...can't hate that. Give me short and light periods, the reason I'm on the pill. And never pregnant, no horrible side effects. My favorite part is that insurance covers it =]

I recently switched from Tri-Sprintec, which was fabulous but after 2 years on it I was experiencing side effects (terrible nausea upon waking up, very moody, basically no sex drive, started spotting, weight was all over the place, overall feeling BLAH). I LOVE this pill! I recently switched from Tri-Sprintec, which was fabulous but after 2 years on it I was experiencing side effects (terrible nausea upon waking up, very moody, basically no sex drive, started spotting, weight was all over the place, overall feeling BLAH). Ever since switching...it's been amazing! I only experience very slight nausea in the morning for the first 4 days or so, but went away as soon as I ate something. My weight is stable at 121lbs and hardly fluctuates anymore. Before, my weight would jump up to 126 and back down to 122 all the time. Fluctuations are normal, but my eating habits/exercise routines didn't call for such a drastic change, especially every single day! Now, I sit at 121 and will fluctuate up to 122 and that's it. My sex drive is back 10000% and I don't think my fiance can keep up! My moods are so much better. I didn't realize how slightly depressed I might have been until I realized that ever since starting Junel Fe 1/2, I've been so chipper! My anxiety is no longer causing me problems; it got pretty bad before and was very, very distressed. I haven't had any breakthrough bleeding or spotting or cramping or anything. I'm not quite through my first pack yet though, so I don't know how my periods will be or how I'll feel after. But I'm incredibly positive that I'll be fine! I wouldn't mind a lighter or shorter period. Mine have ALWAYS been 6 days, birth control or not. I wouldn't mind a period lasting 3 or 4 days :P I'm so glad it's working out for me! I was afraid that switching from a higher dose to a low dose might cause problems or just not fix anything...but I was so wrong, and I'm so glad! I feel incredible :)
