500 mg 2x daily 3 days. No extreme side effects. Some drowsiness but that was all. Infection cleared up quickly.

After reading all of the scary problems people have had I decided to do a review because I luckily did not have any major side effects. I'm not normally the type to go to the doctor but my UTI was unbearable. It was to the point of keeping me up at night. This medication was wonderful. After 6 days of use I developed a small rash on the back of my rib cage on either side, so I stopped taking the pills. Then a day later I developed a major rash in the genital area - VERY uncomfortable. Not sure if the rash is due to a yeast infection or the antibiotic but I've never had a rash like this before.
