Began taking 2 @ 500 @ day @ 10 days for UTI three days after taking prednisone for 9 days for asthma problems. I think the prednisone brought on my UTI because it began the 8th day after beginning the prednisone. Today I just took my 4th ciprofloxacin. Urinating is easier already but a little concerned about all the side effects I've been reading here especially after taking the prednisone. ... Show Full Comment

Discontinued Ciproflaxin 500 mg bid after 3 days. Extreme pain, needing a narcotic to stop the pain. (on top of Celebrex, 400 mg QD, for arthritis.) Unable to lift arms above shoulders, swelling of my neck and other arthritic joints; both shoulders, spine, both hips, right knee, both hands. NO benefits, I couldn't tolerate this medicine. I only used this medication for 2 days due to the side effects. I had racing,pounding heart, increased hip and leg pain, severe stomach cramps. I have heart failure and back problems that cause sever hip n leg pain. I did not read any information before taking this, ( I usually do) I trusted my Dr knowing all my conditions that she would not give me something that had a chance of making them wors ... This morning I would be taking my 4th pill. I woke up at 4am with severe nausea and my heart was pounding. I have trouble with most antibiotics, but this is scaring me. I have a heart condition and plan to call my doctor ASAP today. I have also noticed some bloating the last couple of days. Def not worth the risk.
