I also had some sort of reaction. I had a root canal today and everything was going good until they used the sodium hypochlorite to clean the canal. I was in excruciating pain. I haven't felt that much pain since I delivered my children. My face was already swollen before I got out of the dentist office. I'm still in pain and my whole left side of my face is really swollen and bruised. Hoping tomo...

I had fallen and ripped a nice gash on the underside of my left wrist. Luckily it was off to the right of center and didn’t rupture any arteries. I was out of work at the time and did not have any insurance. So, I went and bought everything I thought I would need to dress the wound and visited my local fire station. They refused to treat me. Dispatched Calls Only. So, at home, after cleansing, I used Vetericyn Spray liberally on the wound then pulled the severed skin together using those super sticky stretch bandages. Then over wrapped the forearm in gauze. For the first two weeks, I sprayed the hypochlorite solution into the bandage gauze till saturated, to prevent infection. As the skin began to fuse completely, I continued to spray the solution until it healed. It’s true that this solution was sold as to be used on animals and it has done well on all of my pets! My wound has healed completely! Hardly see where it was. Very minimal scarring. Read More Read Less

Used by my dentist in root canal therapy. No problem with its use inside my mouth, but the drainage of this product to the outside of my mouth caused skin burns taking about two weeks to heal.

My recent root canal became a nightmare when sodium hypochlorite leaked into my bloodstream (per my Dr.'s opinion). At first it felt like my tooth was on fire; then my entire left face was burning up to the eye socket. The endodontist gave me 3 additional numbing needles (a total of 5!) yet the pain worsened to a pounding fire until I was screaming in tears. I would place the pain somewhere between passing a kidney stone and hard labor...I nearly went to the ER. As I told my endodontist, it felt like I was being whacked in the face with a wooden mallet attached to a hot iron poker. This lasted about 6 hours with no relief, until he suggested a combo of Ibuprofen 600mg & Acetaminophen 1000mg (I cannot take narcotics), plus Ora-Gel and an ice pack. Only then could I stop screaming and get some rest. By the next day my face was swollen round like a volleyball, but not nearly as painful. It has been 5 days now and I still can't open my jaw all the way or chew on the left side, but the worst seems to be over. The swelling is better but not gone. This was by far the worst pain I've had outside of childbirth, no kidding. Read More Read Less
