Maxalt on its own doesn't help me. I MUST use another pain med for it to work. I also take a prescribed pain med with the Maxalt and then my headache will go away. I used to take a differnt prescribed migraine med, for about 10 years, but it seemed to stop helping me about 2 years ago so I was put on Maxalt.

Have been using for several years now and if I take it along with 4ibuprofen or within 10 minutes of ibuprofen it has worked 9out of 10 times quickly. However, my last two migraines it has not helped at all and I have ended up in the emergency room. I am pretty sure my migraines are due to hormones but I won' t rule out allergies or cheese. Coffee usually helps.

I have had migraines since I was a teenager and used a number of medications. MaxAlt has exceeded all others. On rare occasions, I may need to take more than one. There are some negatives. It is very expensive and either not covered or only partially covered by most insurance. The patent expires this year and I am hoping for a more reasonably priced generic. Also, the invidual pill packaging

I never leave home without this medicine. Also, I keep one next to my bed in case I wake up with the beast migraine! I wish this medicine was out years ago. Life has certainly better ever since. This is expensive, but worth every cent! Thank you.
