I was on the generic of celexa for 3.5 weeks and it didn't help me with my depression. I stilled cried all the time and had negative thoughts all day and night. I also had trouble sleeping, which was new for me because I don't usually have trouble sleeping. My therapist said that I should wait 3 weeks to see results if it was going to work. I have been taking 20 mg of Celexa for 19 days.The first 2times, I felt queasy n had diahrea but it might have been a bug that was going around. I felt slightly better within a just a few days. I felt great! I had not even realized how depressed I was until the real me returned!! I have been taking Celexa for 7 years due to depression and anxiety. I started with 20 mg and eventually went to 60 mg which seemed to work for me. My doctor recently changed my dosage to 40 mg due to new studies that have found anything over 40 mg can cause heart issues and/or death (great). I have been on this for about 6 months. After 3 months I upgraded the dose from 10mg to 20mg. I have to say it has certainly helped my ability to cope with work and social situations. Although I often hear warnings about changes in behavior. I have begun to not care about things and have really changed as a person and have actually made some bad decisions.
