Asacol has something called DBP in it. Look up DBP....it cause endocrine issues and tumors. After taking Asacol for 15 years I developed Thyroid Cancer. If you go on the Asacol drug company site there is no mention of Asacol being discontinued. Asacol, made by Warner Chilcott, LLC is being discontinue mid April 2013, and replace by Delzicol, as recommended by the FDA. An inactive ingredient in Asacol, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), being removed from all drug products.

I have terrible joint pain. Is there another medication anyone was given that may have had joint pain with this medicine? I find it difficult to even lift my purse. I exercise almost everyday and since I started this med I have cut back because it hursts to even walk.
