i took this medication before finding out i was pregnant with my son in 1998. he was born with congenital heart disease, has had 3 open heart surgeries, is autistic, has a seizure disorder and many other health issues. DO NOT take this medication if you think you might be pregnant!

I had bronchitis for almost 2 months and finally succumbed to antibiotics! Biaxin was chosen because of my penicillin allergy. I noticed that began improving within 36 hours of starting the drug. I also was not informed about the unusual taste which came in the middle of the night. I have not found the unusual taste a problem during the day, maybe because I'm eating throughout the day. Prescribed by dr because of repeated bouts of bronchitis & sinusitis. Z-pack was not effective for me. Was told to take 500mg twice a day. Like most of the othe reviewers, this caused severe nausea, throbbing headaches, and terrible metallic taste in my mouth. After 3 days of of that I decided that the bronchitis was preferable.
