I have been on this birth control for at least four years. My periods are shorter, lighter and cramps are non-existent; its pretty fantastic. My only issue is a lower sex drive over the years.

18/5'7"/138lbs. I have never taken birth control before so planned parenthood started me on this before switching me to an IUD. The pills were effective I didn't get pregnant and the side effects were minimal--my chest got larger (I would say a full cup size) and were slightly sore every day and I was sluggish, low energy especially in the afternoon. Note that I was only on it for thr ... Show Full Comment

This is by far my favorite birth control! It has definitely helped me lose weight, I was soooo worried I would gain weight and I certainly have not. I get my period on time every single month, I am not pregnant and my skin is less oily. I have noticed that my sex drive is super low, my husband has definitely noticed. I love it, I would recommend it to anyone. I still am pretty mean the week of my ... Show Full Comment

I have been on this form of birth control for a full year. It took my body three months to adjust to the birth control to where I noticed clearer skin, weight loss, etc. However I lost my sex drive recently, I still experience inconvenient breakthrough bleeding, and I had severe depression/mood swing issues with this pill. I retrospect I should have switched to a different pill a while ago however ... Show Full Comment

This is the worst BCP I have ever taken. It does what it's supposed to do - prevent pregnancy - but I think that's because my libido is non-existent since starting this pill. Over about 15 years, I've taken Alesse, Aviane, and Alysena with no problem. I'm on my 3rd month of Lutera and I'm done with it. I have extreme mood swings, irritability with everyone (friends, family, ... Show Full Comment
