I have been on SEVERAL different types of birth control over the past 15 years, and Yaz has been the VERY BEST ONE of Any of it!!!!! Cleared up my skin, no mood changes, no lowered sex drive, light periods, etc. the ONLY downside was spotting between periods. But I can handle that!! I LOVE this pill! Been on it 5 years!

I had extreme weight gain when taking Yaz (I've also tried Ortho Tri-Cyclen, which I hated but at least that one didn't make me gain weight). I think overall I gained close to 15lbs on it (without changing my diet at all). Otherwise, Yaz did not affect my mood whatsoever.

(I'm in my late 20's) I experienced night sweats, hot and cold flashes during the day, it made my period nearly inexistent, severe mood swings and irritability, loss of libido (except during the second week), fatigue, severe insomnia, dizziness, memory lapses, irregular heartbeat, breast ... I was on Yaz and it cleared my skin up and worked great for birth control. But the side affects were numerous and after being off of it for several years I have not recovered. I have pain in all of my joints, weakness, extreme fatigue, and huge weight gain. I always had low blood pressure and no problems with cholesterol but now both are up. I have constant headaches, heart palpitations and in ... Show Full Comment

I love Yaz! I was on it for over a year when I heard about the serious side effects and decided to try something else even though I never had an issue with it. Once I went on the other birth control I was a disaster. Sex drive was non-existant, mood swings out of control, feeling blah all the time and I was spotting in the middle of the month. I went back on the Yaz and I feel soooo much better. I ... Show Full Comment
