I started taking Yaz in August for my vacation this was the first BC i have every taken unlike most of you it did not give me acne or make me gain wight I lost over 25 pounds taking it i had shorter periods and my cramping was only the first day my husband told me that i would get really moody quickly littlest things would set me off, my breast are very tender my fingers swell to the point my ring cuts off my blood flow, at work i would be so tired that i would have to leave i would sleep for 10 to 12 hours at a time, i only had a few times when i would break down and cry for no reason at all. I stop taking Yaz on the second of October today is the 26 of October i still have not gotten my period when my doctor assured me that i would get it within 3 days of not taking the pill i really stated to get worried. i have taken 3 pregnancy test and 1 blood test and all came back negative i am worried because i would forget to take the pill and then start taking it again and now i haven't had my period in 6 weeks if i am pregnant and taking the pill has covered up my hormones and I am not getting an accurate reading.i do not know if the pill had anything to do with this or not. My doctor has told me to come back in 2 weeks if i have not gotten my period by then to take another test. i would not recommend taking this pill every person has different side effects i do understand this i would like to know if there is anyone else is having or has had this issue as i am now.

I do not understand why so many women love this stuff. After three months of taking this pill I started getting UTIs. Prior to taking this I took Ortho Tri-Cyclen for many years. I never had a UTI in my life. Every other month I would get them. I finally stopped taking the Yaz, (for insurance reasons (at the time there was no generic)). I do not understand why so many women love this stuff. After three months of taking this pill I started getting UTIs. Prior to taking this I took Ortho Tri-Cyclen for many years. I never had a UTI in my life. Every other month I would get them. I finally stopped taking the Yaz, (for insurance reasons (at the time there was no generic)). I started taking TriSprintec (generic Ortho)and I have not had one UTI since. This could be coincidence, but when you get for UTIs in a 7 month period, then stop taking this pill and they stop happening...strange. Other women have had kidney, and increased risk of blood clots. Horrible pill, not worth whatever "benefits" it brings.

I know Yaz has received a lot of negative hype over the last few years, but I have been taking Yaz on and off for the last 5 years, and I have to say, Yaz is amazing! I never had any health problems from it, no side effects,I never ever had one pimple on my face. I absolutely love Yaz and recommend it! Don't let those commercials scare you!

I started taking Yaz when I was about 21 and loved it. It helped lighten my periods and controlled my acne. I had no qualms about it. This past spring I started breaking out like crazy and had heavy periods was very emotional and became very depressed. I didn't think it was my birth control at all so I went to several doctors to try to figure out what was wrong and all of my tests came back normal ... Show Full Comment

I just stopped taking yaz a few weeks ago and I INSTANTLY felt better. I am just waiting for my skin to go back to normal but I know that takes a while. I don't know what made my body react to this pill after 4 years but something happened and I just want other women out there to know. I wish I would have stopped the pill right away but I didn't know any better.

I switched to Yaz because I heard that it helps with acne and I heard women don't gain weight while using it. It did help with my acne and I didn't gain weight but my anxiety increased substantially. I never had anxiety attacks until I started Yaz. I also experienced more mood swings with this birth control pill then any other. I used nordette prior to using Yaz. I switched back to Nordette a ... I switched back to Nordette and my mood swings and anxiety stopped after 30 days! For me there's a definite connection between taking Yaz and increase in mood swings and anxiety.
