I have been on Ambien for 3 years and sleep great with no side effects. I was on Xanax before that and it took too long to take effect. I had to take it 2-3 hours before I wanted to go to sleep. Not with Ambien, I take it about 1/2 hour to an hour before I want to go to sleep then either read or watch TV in bed. I sleep a good 5-7 hours and wake up with no grogginess.

I experenced many of the side affects. Resembled stoke like symptoms. Enough so my wife took me to the ER. Slured speach, double vision, could not stand or walk, confussion, short term memory loss. Very scary for both of us. I had taken the Ambien exactly as prescribed by my physican.

After convincing her Ambien could be the cause of her night visits to the kitchen we thou ... Show Full Comment
