I took it 3 times a day as the Dr. said it only ease the pain for a short while an after taking it for a week I was still having the same pain couldn't sleep at nightpain was worser at night even after take the meds. I was taking 300 mlg

It hasn't worked well for the pain of diabetic neuropathy.was perscribed 1 30 MG 2 times daily.

Had an Intracerebral Hemorrhagic Stroke (ICH) in July '07. Most of the damage was nerve pain due to neuropathic pain on my entire left side -- especially in my hand and foot. Went several months after the stroke not taking meds hoping it would go away. Have neuralgia as a result of nerve damage from Guillain-Barre Syndrome; also suffer from fibromyalgia. Does nothing for the fibromyalgia, but does wonders for the nerve damage in my legs. After getting up to a therapeutic dosage, I visited my doctor for a checkup. He asked how I was doing, and my response was, "Ten times better than last time." Definitely helpful for me. Comment:
With diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia and PHN pain control is difficult. I tried Lyrica which worked well but the pricing even with insurance was prohibitive. I now take a total of 2400 mg of Neurontin daily and it has been as effective without the high price and side effects of Lyrica.
