I was prescibed Pimozide by a brilliant psychiatrist for my OCD. Specifically for the intrusive unwanted thoughts often associated with OCD. This drug has been a miracle for me since the thoughts have all but disapeared. I initially had some side effects such as an intense restlessness is the best way I can describe it, but this went away after a week or two.

This drug was useful at decreasing tics but after having hormones checked on my teen son found they were all messed up, highly suspicious that this drug is the reason, going to try to come off and see if hormones go back to normal.

Makes you tired and not want to do anything. It'll work sometimes but I ended up ditching the medicine because I felt it wasn't helping and didn't take the way I always felt. Would strongly not recommend for tourettes.

it kills all tics. that said, it kills all vivacity. after build-up in my body, 2 weeks or so, i ended sleeping up to 19.5 hours a day. each waking hour was torture; an intense restlessness that is very difficult to describe. didn't want to do anything. tv, computer were off for weeks on end. kind of drove me to alcohol to alleviate the emotional oblivion. the greatest part of my waking hours was knowing i'll get to sleep in an hour or two, if i can just bear it. NOT RECOMMENDED at all. oh, I passed up on totally hot chicks that were mine to be just because my libido had been obliterated as well!Read More Read Less
