I have insomnia and can't sleep without a sleeping pill. I'm also an addict so I'm not allowed any strong narcotics. Trazodone has worked very well for me. I've been taking it for over a year now. I started at 100mg and am now up to the max of 300mg/night. I will have to find another pill once this starts to become ineffective. But it puts me to sleep nicely and I don't feel anything linger the ne...

I have terrible insomnia and always searching for something to help me with this. I have tried this several times over the course of a year and did not like the way it made me feel the next day. Also did nothing for my sleep. Thought I would try it again one last time to see if it would be different this time. No. Couldn't sleep and next day I felt like I had a terrible hangover all day. I had no ...

Fortunately for me, this drug works VERY well for me. I take it half an hour before sleeping, whilst I'm in bed already. I actually sleep through, after trying numerous sleeping pills. I sleep well and get up without feeling groggy. So in my experience, I will recommend it for sure

The first night, I got 9 and a half hours of sleep. Maybe because I was so exhausted. Then for the past 3 weeks, I woke up every two hours, felt awful during the day and the side effects got worst. Side effects included Dehydration Constipation so bad , I couldn't go for 24 hours, every day Eyes felt weird Sinuses were blocked up Exhausted Nightmares Now I'm tapering off and it's awful. Slowing taking 90%, the 80% and so on every night I would not recommend this to anyone.

I have anxiety with insomnia. I’ve taken trazodone for years and it’s the only way I can sleep. I take 50-100mg as needed. You want to try to get to sleep as quickly as you can when you start to feel the sedation. I’ve noticed it can be less effective if you take it too early or stay up after the initial sedation. It takes some experimenting. It’s very safe, inexpensive and commonly prescribed.

Terrible medicine. It made me so dizzy that I could barely walk. If anything it prevented sleep with its awful side effect.

This drug has been a life changer for me. I would be up 3-4 times per night for the last 2 years, and would be so exhausted during the day. It took several days to start working, but now I wake up refreshed every morning and have slept through the night since taking it. I feel great throughout the day and an added bonus is that I have lost weight in the last month. I don't feel the need to graze all day long. I take 50mg per day, right before bed.

I have not experienced any side effects from this medication. However, it has not been effective in helping me sleep. My insomnia has been s life long problem. I really can't take sleeping pills, because, I am a type one insulin dependent diabetic And, I am Hypoglycemic Unaware. So Trazazone is really the only only medication I can use

Trazadone is horrible. I need a sleeping pill but my doctor prescribed Trazadone which is an antidepressant. I felt betrayed and tricked. I used it for a month and felt like a zombie the whole time

I've been taking this medication for about 2 years and have had side effects all over the place. I take this medication for sleep and it works ok I've had to keep upping the dose about every 6 months. Side effects: Blurry vision, "noodle arms" (carrying objects like a book or pan hurt) Horrible night terrors to the point I don't want to go to sleep. Nausea, migraines that can last days at a time, and being very dizzy

50 mg at night.puts me to sleep but Dry mouth , sleep disturbances & bad dreams. . Severe headaches by 2 pm . Increase stress . Confusion , grumpiness . Increased anxiety & irritation hostility. Hard to handle tolerance of customer service people especially in the phone & rushy feeling people driving in traffic . Upset stomach & nausea some Diarrhea.. almost felt like the stomach flu . Fatigue. Only help took .5 Xanax & Excedrin to relieved the nagging awful headache & tension in my neck and felt normal balance & calm again . Makes me feel terrible . I’ve had cramps in my legs at night . Was okay in the first couple weeks but worsens after 1-2 months. I’m weening off .25 mg & talking to doctor may even asking for blood work . Read More Read Less

9/25/2023 . Let me start by saying that trazadone worked well for me ( 100 mg at bedtime ). I started this drug Dec . 2022). Little did I know I was poisoning myself and in May 2023 I ended up in the hospital with stage 4 liver failure and qualified for a liver transplant . My liver , pancreas and gallbladder were affected with so much inflammation it was hard to tell what damage has been done permanently. $90,000.00 later after a 4 night hospital stay, tests , MRIs and a liver biopsy I am still not out of the woods . Thankfully I have insurance. I see my Gastroenterologist in October 2023 for a full blood lab and another ultrasound of my liver . I am hoping at this point I do not have significant damage to any of my internal organs .I stopped taking trazadone immediately for I knew it had to be the culprit . My life has been turned upside down , I was writing my obituary and getting my finances together . My Doctor who prescribed this medication never monitored my blood which should have been done . I was not feeling sick but my fiancé said I was very lethargic for months . I felt it was winter blues or my hormones. When my eyes turned yellow I knew I was in trouble .Immediately stopping this drug my critical numbers in my blood slowly started to decline . Please take this drug with caution - or don’t take it at all! Have your blood monitored. I have learned to be so careful of what I put in my body - please think twice about being prescribed this drug . My friend got this same drug prescribed for her dogs anxiety . I would not even give it to an animal . I was given less than 40% chance of leaving the hospital alive . Had I waited another week to see a doctor I would not have survived . Read More Read Less

After a brief hiatus off of the med I’m now back on it, I’ve had pretty bad insomnia most of my life and this is one of the few medications that actually lets me go to sleep. The side effects are there, I feel a little groggy when I start my mornings, I get dry mouth before bed and I’m having a little diarrhea while my body readjusts to the medication. However it’s worth it, it helps my mind stop racing at night which I desperately need and doesn’t interact negatively with my other antidepressants.Read More Read Less

I take traz 100mg for insomnia. It’s the only medication that can make me sleepy without making my restless leg syndrome issues act up(tingles in joints. Impossible to fall asleep with). I really like trazadone because once It kicks in I can start falling asleep without feeling dizzy or sick. It also keeps me from waking up 10 times a night. My only complaint is sometimes I SWEAR some of the pills are duds. Sometimes there is zero affect. It’s odd. This past week I took my dose for 4 nights in a row with zero effect. Then on the 5th night the drowsiness kicked in like it’s supposed to. It doesn’t feel like a built up tolerance. It just seems like some of the pills don’t have drug in them. It’s weird. Otherwise, trazadone allows me to get a good nights sleep without feeling messed up and groggy in the morning. Read More Read Less

I started Trazodone (3 times a day at the same time)for major depressive disorder, severe anxiety and trouble sleeping. Since starting this medication (fairly recent) my mood has improved tremendously, energy levels have increased, anxiety has improved and when I take my last dose of the day before bed, I actually fall asleep faster and stay asleep. I have no side effects from Trazodone and nothing negative to say, only positive feedback. After trying several other medications that didn't work, I am very happy I finally found one that works for me!Read More Read Less
