I'm a 58 YOF, 190 lbs, going for my 2nd colonoscopy. After hating my previous experience with Golytly, then having a bad experience with MoviPrep, I opted for Nulytely this time due to the lower sodium content. Ate very lightly Monday, then clear liquids Tuesday. Mixed Nulytely with regular powdered Countrytime Lemonade mix, since I detest the taste of artificial sweeteners and Gatorade. The real...

I had my first colonoscopy Wednesday. I was instructed to drink clear liquids all day then begin drinking this "cocktail" at 4:00pm. I had to drink 8 oz. every 10 minutes until I drank all 4 LITERS or until everything ran clear. The taste didn't bother me as much as the volume and there were times that I waited 15-20 minutes between doses because I was feeling so bloated. At one point, I took ...

I read the reviews here and actually thought of cancelling the colonoscopy. Here is my experience: the stuff doesn't taste bad (like diet lemonade, I imagine), didn't have any side effects, worked in 15 minutes. I mixed the stuff, cooled it, drank 3 pints in a minute and another pint 10 minutes later. 3 hours later, what came out was yellow. Drank more of the stuff late at night to make sure everything was out. Done. The colonoscopy was a weird experience: first time in my life I was put under (am 56) and I apparently talked the whole time. Felt nothing during and after the procedure. Nothing. Totally weird. That was a month ago. Read More Read Less

took this drug on 7/7/2015 and it changed my life forever. I had kidney issues and nearly died for 6 months. have spent all my savings on doctors and treatments trying not to die. I was in great shape prior to drinking this poison. I have now colitis ,diverticulitis, slow motility , ibs, lots of pain, diet very restricted, take milk of magnesia for 7 years daily, can eat only a fodmap diet. I have problems every day of my life from this nulytley. it is the only one medicare will pay for and I tell my friends to buy a better one. colonoscopy prep used to be a small bottle of magnensiu, 2 pills and an enema. much easier. I chugged all 32 ounces of the first dose in one shot. It worked in 20 minutes. It ties you to the bowl for a while, no doubt. I took the second dose at 4:30 am before my 9:30 colonoscopy. Same chug MO. Not sure I needed the am dose. I’m a “jump right into a cold pool” type of person, so draining 32 ounces in short order worked for me. The lemon/lime tasted like salt water, but who cares about the taste? The product is effective, and my advice is to throw it down. Don’t torture yourself with a long drawn out process.Read More Read Less

I read the scary reviews and was not looking forward to drinking this stuff. I didn't get any flavor packets but a container with lemon flavor already added. I bought Crystal Light Lemonade pitcher packs and put 3 of them in the container before adding water. Then I added the water to the line and shook it up and put it in the fridge to chill. I didn't have the split prep, I had to drink the whole thing. The taste was pretty great to me since I added the Crystal Light. I would say it was a very tart lemonade taste. I didn't get sick and I have a pretty sensitive gag reflex. If you like lemonade do what I did with the crystal light and you'll be fine. Definitely cleans you out.Read More Read Less

I came on here before I tried Nulytely to see what others said and the reviews scared me. I'm here to tell you my experience. I never got flavor packets to choose from. I got Nulytely with lemon on the container premixed. So I had no choices. I bought crystal light lemon pitcher packs and added 3 of them in the container before adding water. I shook it and then added the water to the line and shook it again but longer. I chilled it in the refrigerator for 4 hours before starting my prep. I had to drink the whole thing. I wasn't given the option of splitting the prep. I'm happy to say the taste was pretty great. Tasted like a very tart lemonade just a little thick. I admit by the end I didn't want to drink anymore but it was nothing I couldn't handle. It did its job and I was clean for my colonoscopy this morning. So to the ones that have a gag reflex and are afraid to drink this stuff, don't be. If you like lemonade do what I said about the crystal light lemonade. Remember to get the pitcher packs.Read More Read Less

When mixed with water, this solution has the texture of dog drool. It is a vile solution to have to drink. It caused severe bloating, abdominal discomfort, headaches, runny nose, horrible chills, and aggravated GERD symptoms.

Worked great- don’t be put off by all the bad reviews. This was prescribed prior to my (first ever) colonoscopy and I was VERY anxious about everything, but especially the prep. I read a bunch of these reviews after the pharmacy gave me this huge gallon bottle to use. It really wasn’t a big deal. I had no cramping at all and started 1st round at 5pm done on the toilet by 7:30 so I got a full night sleep before the 2nd half. Yes it’s a lot to drink in a short time, and no, it doesn’t taste great but I also found a few tips that worked well for me: 1. For the 2 days before you start the clear liquid diet, days i are a low residue diet that is easy to digest. I had White bread, white rice, cooked veggies with no skin or seeds, pancakes, chicken (although you may want to avoid meat) yogurt. This made passing everything very easy. 2. Do mix up the prescription according to directions and refrigerate in the morning on the day you will use. 3. Do ask for lemon lime flavor pack, it wasn’t terrible 4. Get a big/wide straw like for bubble tea. I put this way back on my tongue so I barely tasted it going down 5. Pace yourself- I did 10 ounces every 10 minutes using a timer. Then chased with ginger ale to clear the taste each time. 6. After you drink the 2nd glass, use diaper rash cream to protect BEFORE the diarrhea starts. 7. Use baby wipes and reapply diaper cream each time As for the procedure itself- I barely was aware, the drugs were great and only a little gas afterwards. Best wishes ! Read More Read Less

I'm a 61 YOF using this for my 2nd colonoscopy. I found the delivery worse than the outcome of the procedure. I love the suggestion of using the Countrytime lemonade, I to hate the artificial sugar taste. I recommend drinking it cold and w/ a straw, helped al to. Also, my Doc ordered/recommend Gaxilax to counter the bloating and urpy feeling - did help. What no one told me, and I should have known, due to the high salt content (needed to be effective) you really need to hydrate post procedure. In fact, I think that should be part of the instruction. The next day my muscles felt like they were full of post-workout lactic acid. I'm pushing fluids like mad and upping the pain mess from Tylenol to alive to try and get moving. Read More Read Less

The taste didn't bother me as much as the volume and there were times that I waited 15-20 minutes between doses because I was feeling so bloated. At one point, I took a break for a full hour before going back to it. With every dose I felt worse, so I quit after 3 liters. It did what it was supposed to do; my colon was very clean and my doctor could do the test easily. However, when I have to do another one, I will ask for something with much less volume. Now that it's over, I've done some research and asked friends and have discovered there are other preps that are just as effective without sinking a battle ship.Read More Read Less

Twice before I hated it - no dreaded it. Today I realized it's not the product but delivery method most often prescribed. I used it 2x prior in the USA and they give you a gallon size plastic jug to fill and refrigerate. In the Dominican Republic I got 4 packs and was told to mix each in a liter of water (about 32 oz) I used glass bottles I picked up at IKEA and placed them in a very cold fridge - about 33 degrees F. Used a big straw like the ones served with Bubble Tea. Cherry Flavor - suck a lime, drink 8 to 10 oz through straw in seconds, suck a lime. No gagging - nada - no bad taste - I suffered so much prior 2x. Mix in a glass bottle and make it cold - big straw - lime optional. Really a major difference! Got go now....really got to goRead More Read Less

This product was very effective for the treatment for which it was provided but I feel this is a very poisonous product and i will noever use it again. I experienced an episode of A fib after the first night of a 2 night prep and another 2 days after the colonoscopy. During these four days I also experienced 4 migraines. Following the proceedure my diarrhea increased for 2 months and I was very tired and lethargic. Urinary incontinence also increased but 2 months later has improved. This was my first colonoscopy at age 76 against my better judgement but agreed to stop the pestering I was recieving from MDs. No abnormatities were found but my usual dairrhea continues. I didnot find the prep intolerable but the side effects were unexpected and never to be risked againRead More Read Less

The real sugar worked - it was quite palatable and went down easy. Per the advice of others, I drank it cold using a wide straw to help it go by most of my tastebuds but those that did still tasted much better than expected. Started at 4p and finished the first half by 5:30p. It was late kicking in, not until 8:40p, but I was finished by 11p and able to sleep thru the night, only getting up once at 3a. Got up at 6p and finished the second half by 8am. Ran clear by 9am, so good to go for 11a procedure. I'd use this one again.Read More Read Less

I am a 44 year old female and this is my 4th time using the prep. before a colonoscopy. The taste is extremely unappealing. I question why each person regardless of size is encouraged to drink the entire gallon of nulytely. I have never been able to finish the gallon, and I make myself miserable in trying to do so. I would rather my doctor be very frank in telling me what to look for to know when enough is enough.

The doctor prescribed Nulytely in preparation for my colonoscopy because that is what my insurance would cover. When you add water it's a 4 liter jug but I only had to drink 1 liter to get a clear, liquid bowel movement. My advice is to go to the bathroom in the morning so most of what you have in your colon is gone when you start drinking. The taste is horrible, it was very difficult to keep down. But if you don't eat breakfast the morning of you should only need to drink 3-4 glasses, before you're totally cleaned outRead More Read Less

I am 72 years old and had zero problems with this drug. I used the lemon flavoring and feel people exaggerate the bad taste. I don't imagine drinking or being forced to drink a gallon of anything in a short period of time would be on anyone's list of things They'd like to do. I know it's only my opinion but I think people have too many preconceived expectations before they even take it.

I put this product in a blender and mixed it. It was like a milkshake and the taste was not nearly as bad and it was a heck of alot easier to drink. This is probably my 19th colonoscopy and finally I figured out how to get this product into me without the horrible gagging.
