I am a recent widow and have had difficulty sleeping. The 'PM' drugs left me groggy in the mornings! I tried Melatonin and have been sleeping very well. If I awake during the night to use the bathroom, I do not feel lightheaded or groggy. I am able to return right away to a sound sleep. I wake in the mornings very refreshed which I consider a blessing! I take the 3mg and have only had to dou...

I take 3 mil time release 1 hr before bedtime, this puts me to sleep for about 4 hrs, then I take another
2 mil to sleep the balance of the night. I have tried other sleep aids that work however, I feel this medication is less harmful when taking for longer periods of time.

Was waking up every couple of hours. Mel+B6 has me sleeping all night. Have had one experience of a brief dizzy spell mid day but I'm not sure if it's attributed to the supplement.

It helps me sleep, I only feely a bit sleepy in the morning if I have not slept enough - I take 6 grams- with no side effects and have read that is really does not have any side effects to cause any harm to your health.

I have tried everything from prescribed medications to over the counter sleep aids and nothing seems to work. Last night I took 10mg of the melatonum with B6 from over the counter (my doctor recommended this). It took me over an hour to get to sleep although after 20 minutes I started getting very lightheaded. I slept 3 hours and have been dizzy and lightheaded all day.If I close my eyes the room spins. This might be a good thing for some patients but I would never recommend this, and if you do try it, start with a small dose. I feel like I've been drunk all day. Never Again. Read More Read Less

I've have insomnia for the past 3-4 years. I've been prescribed both Ambien and Lunestra. With Ambien, I have been sleep eating. With Lunestra I have severe bitter taste in my mouth that lasts the entire day. I still have insomnia, even if I take both Ambien and Lunestra together. I do get some sleep but usually it takes several hours to fall asleep. My sleep is not continuous and I usually wake up several times during the night. I decided to try Melatonin. For the first time, I took 3 Mg of OTC Melatonin at approx. 3PM. I developed flushing, shakes and nervousness within an hour. Either 3 Mg was too much to start with or I'm not accustomed to the side effects. I can't imagine going to sleep if I took this in the evening.Read More Read Less

I have tried every sleep aid there is out there and nothing seemed to work for me. I would stay awake until 2, 3 even 4am with no reason why. When my doctor suggested this supplement, I was hesitant but I figured what else is there. I was amazed how within an hour or so of taking the supplement I passed out cold and didn't wake up til the next morning. To this day, melatonin is my new best friend when I have trouble sleeping.
