I began taking Loestrin 24 for 2 years and had every side effect possible/pregnancy side effects.. Weight gain, depression, constant nausea, enlarged breasts. I tried switching to a different one for a year but my symptoms never got better. I gave up on birth control for a few years and worked hard to get the weight off and after getting into a serious relationship realized I needed to be taking b...

WOW I hate this birth control. Let me tell you all the ways. For context: 32F, active, normal health. My activity did drop from 5-6 gym sessions pre-pandemic to 4 gym sessions post-vaccines & COVID surges (at the time). I've been on this bc consistently for 4 months. Trying to paint a fair picture. -First 2 months had me breaking out all over my face, neck, back, & shoulders. This leveled out afte...

My daughter in law just got off this pill from having a stroke at 34 years old. All symptoms of pregnancy, never could lose weight regardless of diet or attempts. High blood pressure peaks. If you are one that has had eclampsia or BP issues DO NOT TAKE this pill. This pill was her underlying issue for several years being on birth control Ease of use is a wrong item to use for scoring, a pill is a pill

I started this medication when I was 14 and now i’m 23. I used to have cramping that was so bad i’d have to leave school, use heating pads, sleep on the floor, take baths and much more. My bleeding was ridiculous sometimes i could go heavy for over a week or more. This pill has been great. I’m very consistent and take it on time everyday. I’ve had no pregnancy scares, it’s made my face stay clear over the years, reduced my cramping and bleeding. Don’t let these reviews deter you from this. I could’ve blamed this medication for all the emotions i had and i actually was BPD1. Game changer for birth control My only negative is sometimes you will have irregular spotting or a period when you aren’t supposed to, but it’s not oftenRead More Read Less

I've been on this pill for 11 years and used to have 2 week long periods at age 16 and any time before. Now as a 27 year old I have them for 3-4 days and there are much milder. I don't have the extreme cramping and issues I used to have. My mood swings are manageable though I do get kind of sad right before my period and feel worse on my placebo week. Overall I've had a much better experience on this drug than the progesterone only pill which made me feel constipated, sick and have issues with sleeping and eating. Or nuva ring which was uncomfortable and patch which made me feel emotionally crazy and unstable as well as with a lot of physical side effects. I've had a a bit of weight gain on this but it's been over the past 10 years, so I think it's been natural as I get older. I may need to start taking something else as I have migraines very occasionally now but mostly has worked very well for regulation of my insanely heavy periods and I've had absolutely 0 pregnancies but everyone is different. I switched to this birth control hoping it would help with hair loss I thought came from my previous birth control or post covid. The second I switched my front hair line started thinning even more. I stuck it out since the first two months I had no other side effects and a very light three day period every month. At month three the anxiety and break outs hit. First off, I’ve NEVER had anxiety in my life and suddenly my heart was constantly beating rapidly and feeling like I had to take a deep breath every thirty minutes or so. I felt anxious about anything and everything and couldn’t handle the way it felt( probably my cause I’ve never felt that before) I couldn’t handle day to day normal activities and I felt like I need to be alone but couldn’t relax. My neck and side off face started to break out more than usual. I switched back to my other birth control until I see a dermatologist for my hair loss to see what he recommends. This is THE WORST birth control I have EVER taken. Don’t do it!!!!!Read More Read Less

I have been on Enskyce for about 3 years now, and it was my first form of birth control. I noticed weight gain and significant decrease in libido, as well as vaginal dryness. Though, I do not break out on this medication and have had lighter/shorter periods. Overall, it gets the job done to prevent pregnancy, but I am switching to a new birth control now to see if there is something better out there for me.

I was on this pill for 3 months (taking it continuously) and, for me, it didn’t quite work out. I had spotting for 2.5 months straight and sore breasts the entire time. Although I had these symptoms, I didn’t experience any mood changes! Different types of BC affect people differently and this was just my experience.

I’m so sad I had to switch birth controls because Enskyce was such a great bc pill for me. I had no abnormal side affects- no weight gain at all, acne improved, and was an overall affective bc. Had to go off of it because I had been on it for too long and my body got used to it (explains why I liked this drug so much!). I know there are mixed reviews on it, but my experience has been great and I highly recommend this birth control.

Have used this for about 2-3 years. I’ve been very depressed/angry/upset during this time and thought it was because I was in my head. Absolutely not. I’ve been becoming more depressed again and finally thought “hmm maybe it’s my birth control”. I decided to not take it one night & the next day, I was the happiest I’ve been in a while, motivated, and just overall better. Took the pill again the next day and I felt absolutely horrible and disgusting and felt like puking and upset.

Don't let these reviews scare you! I just started taking Enskyce for irregular periods and acne and I haven't had any issues. I just started so I haven't seen major results but I haven't had any side effects while using the pill. I take it with lots of water, a B12 pill, and on a full stomach. Hopefully, this review will make you not think too negatively of this birth control!

I took this birth control for 6 months during my time taking it I went through the worst mood swings and anger issues, I had very bad depression. This made me cause problems out of thin air with my family and would instantly regret it. I do not recommend this birth control. It plays way to many mind games. My period was only skipped once then I would have a two week period every month. DO NOT TAKE THIS!!

this is almost the worst birth control i have ever been on. i’ve been on a total of 4 different brands throughout a span of 2 years and this one is just awful. i am an emotional wreck. i have the worst mood swings ever. one minute i’m fine and the next i am sooo angry to the point that i cry. it’s so horrible. it’s so hard to control & it’s been causing so much conflict between me/my friends/my boyfriend even. i would not recommend this to someone who is very rarely an angry person, as i always feel like such a horrible friend/partner because of the way i lash out. This leveled out after that & since then has been OK. However, I still get flares of breakouts, specifically along my neck, of cystic acne. I have always had cystic acne, but these are whole crops of breakouts that are similar to the first few months of breakouts I experienced. -Steadily gaining weight each month. Not enough has changed about my diet, honestly. I have always eaten the way I'm currently eating & I'm not a person who gains weight this easily. I am up another 5 lbs this month. I started this birth control at 140 & I reached 150 today. (Give or take 5lbs of bloat, that's still an increase.) -Still have ovulation pain. I'm one of those strange cases who can feel her ovulation as it is occurring & get mini-cramps from it. I feel those in their full intensity. -Goes without saying, I also feel my cramps with only a slightly decreased level of pain. -HUGE amount of clotting with each period. My period is actually longer on this birth control, averaging about 5 days when I always averaged around 3-4. -It literally takes only 1-2 days of active pills for your "water weight" to smack right back on your body. I have experienced edema (swelling around the ankles) on this birth control when I never have before. -I have taken the brand name of this pill (Apri) and it didn't give me these symptoms at all. Something about THIS formula is way, way, way, WAY off. -Angry, irritable, & easily stressed out on this pill. When I am off this pill, life has a much better outlook. When I'm on it? I hate everything. -Sex drive changes? Yes. I barely think of sex. -Vaginal dryness? You bet! Summary: This is the worst birth control I've literally ever been on. Apri, the brand name, doesn't give the same side effects. The only pro to Enskyce is that it probably effectively prevents pregnancy and thus far, hasn't made me lose hair any more than before. Be prepared for it to screw everything else up otherwise. Read More Read Less

I've been on this pill for 7 months now. I had to get off the copper IUD and this is what I ended up with. It has not helped with acne. My complaint: I have gained 10+ pounds since I've been on this pill...no diet change, no decrease in my exercise. My doctor says that the pill does not make anyone gain weight. Sorry, but I stayed at 120lbs after I had my daughter (with copper IUD) for two years and after I got on this pill I have steadily put on a little over a pound a month. My jeans and dresses LITERALLY do not fit. I had to go buy bigger clothes. I'm not happy with this pill. I'm not going to go in and argue with my doctor, but this whole "it's just water weight" is crap. I'm not telling anyone not to try this pill, this was just my experience.Read More Read Less

This was the first method of birth control I tried. I took it for a month but switched to the patch (only because I kept forgetting to take it everyday) but that didn't work either so I switched back. Overall good experience. No strange side effects. It also made my period much lighter and they only last 2 ish days instead of the usual 5.

Broke out a little the first month but then my skin went back to normal. Nausea on this BC was really bad for me as well as headaches I got almost daily. I also experienced A LOT of vaginal dryness which caused burning. Diminished sex drive was also an issue. No weight gain though. I was on this pill for 8 months and will now be switching to a different pill in hopes of not experiencing these side effects.

I was switched from Apri to Enskyce because I was told it was cheaper. NOT WORTH IT. Enskyce gave me terrible mood swings. I would get mad at every little thing my bf did and it caused lots of fights. Good think he is super patient and understanding and even suggested that it might be my BC. I havenâ??t had issues with my depression in months and when I started Enskyce I would go multiple days in a row feeling super sad and even having suicidal thoughts for literally no reason. I cried at anything and everything. My sex drive went down so much it was basically none existent. I highly recommend if you have ANY other option, then do anything you can to avoid taking this contraceptive. Read More Read Less

I broke out a little bit in the beginning, but I expected that as I have sensitive skin. I was on ortho tri cyclen which made me gain about 20 lbs and was really scared about “what could happen with THIS one” but I was pleasantly surprised. No cramps, nausea, or anything like that, though I did notice when I eat I get fuller faster, so I think it suppressed my appetite. But my sex drive is fine, I feel really good!

I wanted to write a review for Enskyce after being on it for 6 months after 3 back to back pregnancies and our only means of birth control. It cost me nothing to pick it up and I only experienced mild breakout the first month of being on it. No mood swings or changes that I felt from taking it other than the mild breakout the first month. It has worked well as our only means of contraception. No pregnancies yay lol. Sorry if tmi but it has not shortened or lighten my period. I know some people say birth control can but it has done nothing for me in that aspect. It has not gotten heavier but not lighter either. No weight loss or weight gain in 6 months either. I would definitely recommend this birth control. Read More Read Less

I did not last a full week on this birth control pill because the nausea was too much for me to handle. The minute I stopped taking it, the nausea went away. I immediately called my doctor and was switched to an alternative pill that has given me no problems thus far.
