I have tested positive for the MTHFR Factor (homozygote). I have a history of blood clots forming in my legs. This condition is due to this factor (extreme deficiency of folic acid in my body). Before I was diagnosed with the MTHFR factor, I had a Greenfield Filter put in my body and I am on blood thinner for the rest of my life. Perhaps if I had known about the vitamin deficiency before my back surgery, I could have avoided the filter and the blood thinner by taking the folgard 2.2. The DNA test is expensive but usually covered if you have a family history of strokes, miscarriages, etc. Three of my four children have both bad genes as well. One had a blood clot in her uterus and caused her to miscarry before we were diagnosed with the MTHFR Factor.Read More Read Less

This medicine has been prescribed for myself and my children who all have the MTHFR factor. We are all homozygotes. Our condition causes blood clots due to a lack of folic acid in our bodies. Upon taking this medication, we have had 0 problems with clotting.
