My family has a history of the gout, my grandfather, father, uncles, and myself all take this medication when a flare up does occur. It takes a day for the pain and inflammation to fade away, but it does work great. The only side effect that I get, only when I take more than I am prescribed by the doctor, is a severe case of diarrhea. I do reccommend this drug to anyone who does suffer from it tho...

First time user of this prescription drug. Fairly severe gout attack this occurrence. Could not walk on foot. Heavy swelling. The drug had zero effect on reducing swelling or minimizing pain, even after 3 days.

After just 12 hours on this medication I had severe diarrhea, which dehydrated me and left me feeling very confused, unable to drive and not able to remember things from one minute to the next. I ended up in the hospital for two days with stroke-like symptoms. I have no idea how much the bill will be but I will be sending it to my doctor for prescribing this poison! I'd rather have just elevated my foot and let it go away on its own.

Colchicine caused severe vomiting and diarrhea. On refelction I would have rather have dealt with the pain - the pain was horrendous. Allopurinol has done the business for me. I wouldn’t recommend colchicine to my worst enemy.

I have chronic gout & this medicine caused severe vomiting & diarreah. I thought I was going to die. I would have rather dealt with the pain, and the pain is horrible! I nearly broke my ribs from dry heaving while vomiting.

I took this with a severe case of gout. It really took the gout away but the side effects of stomach and diarhhea are brutal. Still, when I have a really bad attack I'll take it again becasue it works.

I have had gout for over 14 years and, since being switched from allopurinol to this drug, I have had just a couple of attacks, and no severe attacks of gout.
