The medicine worked but the side effect that I has was that after using it in the night at bedtime when I woke up in the morning and tried to get off the bed, I had severe dizziness, nausea and profuse sweating and so went to the doctor and they flushed my ear and got the wax out and now I am totally fine.

I too learned about the harm using q-tips even in the very beginning part of the ear canal.. many people get a chunk of ear wax come out on their finger when their ear itches, or it just comes out, and a lot of people think "Man, I must have WAY to much earwax!" and then go about trying to cut down/remove it. Well this is our bodies natural way of shedding ear wax I learned. We need some (it ...

We need some (it does serve a purpose, ie protects the skin of the human ear canal from bacteria, fungi, insects and water, and also assists in cleaning and lubrication) and so even though this is normal, people think it is not and it is how many people, including myself starting looking to methods of ear wax removal. While you do get the occasional large/dark/hard/soft piece of a wax on a q-tip you stuck in you ear canal, doesn't mean that's all that's in there. You most likely pushed most of it FARTHER into the canal. So I did used regular 3% hydrogen peroxide for a while and that seems to bubble about 500x as much (idk a LOT) but can cause irritation or stinging if your ears are dry or you leave it in a long time. My non-medical advice based on my experience? Use Hydrogen peroxide (straight 3% won't hurt you) immediately AFTER taking a shower (some do before some do both) but if you do it at night you give your ears a chance to make protective wax without chance of loud noises. And then I would use the Carbamide peroxide the other 1-3 times a day (depending on your needs) but I DEFINITELY wouldn't do it everyday, or even weekly.... Our ears are the product of thousands of years of evolution, although it may seem "yucky" our ears are actually pretty good at staying clean on their own.! God BlessRead More Read Less

I used CVS brand Earwax Removal System w/ Carbamide Peroxide 6.5% that the pharmacist told me to get. I used it twice so far in one day. I really can't tell if it's working. I hear crackling, which means it's working to break up the hardened wax. I'm using it due to light hearing loss & ringing in the ears. I'm sure I caused it my self by using q tips too deep. I gave not had ringing in my ears scince I've been using it.
