It stops the pain quickly and with little or no side effects if taken with phenergan .25mg for nausea !! Taken this pill in a 50mg with the 25mg of Phenergan for spinal fusion pain and it works great with no nasty side effects like most pain pills have and works for about 4 to 6 hrs .

The only med that even touches the severe pain I have 24/7 after several injuries and many surgeries. With spinal cord and brain stem compression, without this med I would probably be in a mental institution. I consider this the safest and most effective of the 25-? other meds I have tried.

I was prescribed this after having my hand stitched up. I was satisfied with the level of pain relief. I do find the taste of this medication awful! If I ever have this medication prescribed again, I will make sure I have the pharmacist add a flavor to it (like the ones that are added to medications for my kids).

I am 54 years old and have peripheral neuropathy that causes chronic pain. I was prescribed this medication after having all of my teeth removed. Having tried many medications for my Neuropathy, this med not only controlled my oral pain but was very effective on my chronic pain. It really works well!

This drug gave me constant nausea, shaking of the hands and body, and dizziness but it decreased the pain significantly. I took it after Oral Surgery.

4 month treatment for multiple fractures, Demerol was a much better choice than strong opiates. I could function and no problems such as I had with morphine, dilaudid and especially the new synthetics. Meperidine is an old but effective pain management treatment. The main caution is don't let the pain reestablish fully, take med as soon as pain level increases.

I have trigeminal neuralgia and my biggest problem is I don't get along with most meds. I have taken this for years treating the symptoms and have had no side effects unlike all the others they've tried me on. I can't have surgery because of scar tissue from previous surgery I think this med is getting a bad rap from the medical field. I read about people becoming addicted to Vicodin (horrible stuff) more than demerol One Dr. wanted to put me on 90 lyrica a month to take the place of 1 or 2 treatments of 2 tablets of mereridine a month. Not goodl sense. Read More Read Less
