Wow, this stuff tastes bad, drink a lot of water just for the taste. It works though and I could stop coughing and get to sleep. It does have weird effects on the mind because of being a narcotic I imagine.

The very first dose of the liquid Cheratussin i had taken i choked immediately and i never took it again and it caused me to have asthma

Works quickly and completely. Only problem I'm having is getting it without a prescription. In most states a prescription is not necessary when dispensed in 4 ounces or less, although most pharmacies will not sell it in any amount without a prescription.

Prescribed for cough associated with yet another bout of bronchitis, 2 tsp 3 times a day. I found it surprisingly effective. I will ask for it if and when I go through another round of bronchitis.

after taking the first 5 dosage my cough got worse, i developed asthma, can hardly breath and faster heartbeat. will go see my doctor and ask for another one. do not buy this product.

Got rid of my cough but I had horrendous stomach cramps. Severe side effect. Do not take this medication.

congestion and cough was relieved but I was wide awake all night and my heart rate was elevated. I could hear my heartbeat in my ear. This was after one teaspoon about noon and one at 10:00 pm. the first day.

When taken with food and a full glass of water, as instructed, This medication works great with no side effects. This is the only thing that stops my cough and lets me rest. Great product!

I was prescribed this medicine for bronchitis and for more rest. It actually didn't affect me at all; in fact, me made me totally awake and frustrated.

Dosage 1 teaspoonful every 6 hours . Effective at stopping my cough 2-4 hrs. However not very effective at the 1 teaspoonful every 6 hrs.

Horrible bronchial cough.This gave me severe stomach cramps & caused sleeplessness that I can't even describe.OTC meds have worked better than this one.

I have a horrible post-nasal drip issue and get a cough like no other! When I get a cold, the over-counter-products just do nothing for me. I was prescribed this a year or so ago and when I have gotten sick, since that time, I do not worry about the after-cold cough I usually will get for about a week. No heart racing problems, just plenty of good, sound sleep. I'll take this a dew days and be over it. I think between the stress of not coughing all night long and the sound sleep, it cuts my symptoms in half. I would highly recommend if you can take the codeine. I wwas coughing soooo bad before this med. It dried me up and cleared my breathing. No more cough. Just a quick question: am I supposed to get nauseas hours after the stuff has worn off?????

i was given this for my cough with walking pneumonia. Once you take it you need to lie down & shut off any distractions like the tv & you should go right to sleep. The dr. first perscribed me hydromet which contains A LOT of sugar & WILL raise your blood sugar & it kept me up! when i did fall asleep i would wake up constantly. This cough syrup does not contain the sugar like the hydromet does which is why people says it has a yucky taste-but it tastes way better than over the counter brands & my precription was only $4.Read More Read Less

My insurance did not cover this medicine and I am likely to throw it out after tonight. Briefly after taking this medicine I wanted to go to sleep, but could not. My heart was racing and I could not stop coughing. This was my first dosage but will no longer use this medicine.

Do not recommend this med.if you have high B/P. Within a few min. of taking, B/P shot up to 185/140. It did stop my cough. rather have the cough.

secound dose made me feal hot inside nervis felt like I cant breath when laying down.

had racing thoughts and was unable to sleep. very dizzy the next morning and foggy feeling. had to take the day off from work. would not use again
