My blood pressure taken at the doctor's office was a surprising 165 and lowered itself only to 160 over a 2 hour period of rest. So the doctor prescribed Benezipril. This medicine reduced the blood pressure about 15 to 20 points when taken in the afternoon. However, the next morning the pressure was up again. Knowing that potassium is necessary to remove salt in my system and on OK from the doctor, I began taking potassium chelate the first thing in the morning. This brought the pressure back down. In the combination of potassium chelate in the morning and the benzepril in the evening after supper I can bring the blood pressure to the normal range at 114 over 56 whereas the benezipril by itself only achieves about 135 over 80.
