I was given the 10.8-milligram syringe in November of 2012 for dysfunctional uterine bleeding at the price of $1053.00. I was told it would 'trick' my body into menopause for 3 months. Since then, I've NEVER had worse periods in my life. I see on this article that women should NOT be given this dose and I'd like to know why. My period has never stopped on it's own since I've received this injection. I'm now on progesterone pills 3 times a day while awaiting a uterine ablation in April (I was supposed to get it in January but became too anemic due to the blood loss). The progesterone now barely controls my bleeding, it starts again an hour or 2 before my next dose. I have no known fibroids, cysts and my TSH is in range (treated with Syntroid).Read More Read Less

I am experiencing severe headaches the last 2 months. They start 10 days before my next implant. I receive this medication every 4 weeks. My moods and pain have subsided to a significant level. This second month I have no period. As stated before, I have these headaches and Tylenol or Ibuprofen do not seem to help.
