This Drug has improved the quality of my life greatly! After years of taking T3's. To make it thru the day. And they just knocked the edge off the headaches.I tried sumatriptan and it works with no side effects. Don't let your headache get out of control. If you feel one take one immediatly.Takes about an hour. After 30 years of pain this has changed my life for the better.

The Sumatriptan that was given to me loosely, in a bottle, is different than the foil pack according to my pharmacist. I became very ill after my pharmacy filled my Sumatriptan prescription with the white round tablet instead of foil pack. When checking with the Pharmacy, I found that the non-foil tablets contain "SULFA" which I am HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO. Therefore, I became very ill!!

I have used Dr. Reddy Sumatriptan for Migraine headaches for over twenty years. It always has, and continues to, provide quick and effective relief.

Dr reddys brand worked with just 1 pill. Then my pharmacy switched to the Aurobindo brand and its terrible. I sometimes have to take 2 in one day (wasteful) or suffer until I go to bed. 1 only cuts migraine slightly but the nausea continues. Horrible

I started taking sumatriptan when I was probably around 16-17 and now am 23 and have been taking it all this time, and it never fails me. I used to take excedrin but it never did much and straight up didn't do anything for my auras (which leave me pretty much sightless), taking sumatriptan now when I feel a migraine coming on alleviates all symptoms within around an hour for me. I only get 9 pills a month (mine come in a normal prescription bottle) so I use them when I really need them, and even when I hold out for a while I can take one in the middle of a migraine and feel relief. I only have 2 small cons: I also take prozac which is an SSRI and sumatriptan also effects serotonin uptake so I can't take them at the same time because it can lead to serotonin syndrome. I also feel a little funny when I take it, my face gets a bit tingly and jaw and facial muscles get really sore, it helps to chew something very gummy for me, and I'm usually left with a little brain fog but it all beats the horrible pain of migraines!!Read More Read Less

I took sumatriptan for a couple years to treat migraines, which I would get usually 2-4 times per month. It started out great - I’d take one whenever I felt a migraine coming on and it would disappear within half an hour. Fast forward to a year later. I started noticing that the effectiveness of the sumatriptan was going down, and that I was starting to experience the full force of my migraines again. It would work maybe every other time, which I thought was unfortunate, but I kept taking it. A couple months later, however, I started getting side effects. The sumatriptan stopped working entirely and for about 1-2 days after my migraine, I would experience side effects including elevated heart rate (avg 110-125 bpm, sometimes spiked higher), irregular heartbeat, extreme body fatigue, and the usual migraine fog. I stopped taking sumatriptan after a particularly severe incident and have not found another medication that works like it did in the beginning. I’m sad to not have anything to take that works, but I’d rather have a couple migraines per month than run the risk of affecting my heart. Read More Read Less

Dizzy, panic, blurry vision, nausea, shakiness and vomiting. I will never take it again and give big warning to anyone thinking of trying.

When this drug was made in the U.K., it was a miracle treatment. The Dr. Reddy brand made in India is very poor. One batch will work and I will open another bottle and it does not. I suspect there is no quality control. I feel pain sufferers are the victims of poor quality generics.

I had my physician specify on the script to my pharmacist not to give me Dr. Ready brand sumitriptan. It’s the only brand I have used that actually makes me feel worse. It does nothing to help with my migraine and I end up feeling even sicker after I take it.

Every so often my pharmacy fills my prescription with Dr Reddy’s Sumatriptan. Compared to other brands, Dr Reddy’s is a waste of money. Dr Reddy’s never works for me. Aurobindo Pharma/made in India, which is what I usually get, always works. It also comes in a pill bottle, never in foil packs.

Sumatriptan has been a miracle drug for me. I have about one migraine a week. NSAIDS barely touch them. One sumatriptan almost always does the trick. In the rare occurrences that doesn't completely work, two surely will. Since almost all my migraines start before I get up in the morning, I sometimes wait too long to take a pill and then it takes longer to work. I've learned it's best to take it as soon as I feel a migraine starting. The only negative is that it tends to make me somewhat tired for most of the day, but I'll trade that for the pain relief any day! I can't imagine what it must have been like for migraine sufferers before this drug was available.Read More Read Less

I get severe migraines approximately 4x/month. This is my holy grail 100mg. I can't recommend enough. Non-habit forming. Affordable. Mild side effect is occasional lethargy for 24 hours post but as long as you are aware you're a little malaise (I call it the migraine hangover), I am just so happy this works within 2 hours. No more excruciating vomit inducing ice pick jackhammer, bright lights loud noises agony on one side of your head (I get occipital migraines) that no one understands. Voila you get to participate in the day again. Thanks sumatriptan aka imitrex.Read More Read Less

Suffering chronic migraine headaches since my teen years. Tried every treatment. One doctor prescribed me Tylenol with CODINE. I was on my way towards addiction with that! I have had every test you could imagine and every treatment. Sumatriptan has been my lifesaver. Rarely do I have a stubborn one. I'm not a fan of big pharma, but I do hold gratitude for this specific treatment.

I've been taking this for me debilitating migraines for about a month. Pros? It almost always works if you catch the onset on time and the migraine is improved or gone in 30-60 minutes. Cons? I have to decide quickly if I'm ready to face the side effects. Like a lot ipf others, my chest and especially my throat get extremely tight so it can be hard to swallow. It's a very intense strong pressure that effects deep breathung. I have to be in a situation where I can sleep for at least an hour because I can make me very drowsy. Lastly, my muscles, joints and throat are pretty sore for up to 24 hours. Sometimes it's definitely worth putting up with, sitting in the dark all day wishing for death due to a migraine is no way to live! If I'm out somewhere to be able to talk/swallow and stay awake, it's a no-go. I give it 3 stars for an fast acting at-home drug, only 3 due to the brutal side effects.Read More Read Less

Brilliant. After years of trying to treat my weekly tension migraines with over the counter meds I finally broke down and asked my doctor for help. I take one when I know I am getting one and it stops it before the migraine takes hold.

This is the only medication that gets rid of my migraines, which I usually get at the start of my period. I don't always need the second tablet. It's expensive, but worth it. If I have a special event I always make sure I have these with me as migraines have ruined too many events in my life. I don't have any side effect at all with this medication. Very happy.

This medication got me my life back!! Been taking this since early 1990's when this first came out, I was actually part of the trial. Nothing relieves my migraines like sumatriptan. I take 50mg at onset and within 45min to an hour, I am fine. I never leave home without it.

Best thing I’ve used for my migraines. It doesn’t take away all of the pain but it reduces it from an 11 to a 1 on a scale from 1-10. I also get super drowsy sometimes when I take it but it’s worth it
