So I debated about going to the derm for years. I had acne since I was 14 but always used OTC products. However, I finally decided to go when I was 23. The derm prescribed me with clindamycin phosphate gel in the morning and adapalene cream at night. The first few days using weren't bad, but after the first week, my face got so dry and extremely itchy. I also had a burning feeling everytime i touc...

I’ve been straggling with acne since i was a little girl about 4th or 5th grade i’ll say over the years my acne would get worse. Year 2023 i’m entering my senior year & i wanted to make a change & see improvement with my acne. I started hating chlindamycin-benzoyl phos peroxide 1.2-5% july 31st, it has now been a week & since then i’ve experienced burning, dryness of skin, redness by my eyes, & it’s very uncomfortable. I still see no improvement but i know it gets worse before it gets better so i’ll continue to use it & keep updates on the process of using this medication. Read More Read Less

I really liked this medication I started struggling with acne with I was 15, my acne made my face itchy and red, I'd get pus-filled pimples on my face, and smaller pimples on my chest, back, and even my bum, not fun. They hurt and were scarring my body, and I have indents and scars on me to this day and I'm 23 now. I tried so many things to get rid of it, I felt self-conscious and it really affected the way I saw myself. I tried drug store products, benzyl gel, going vegan, quitting milk products, and drinking more water, nothing worked. It was simply hormonal and nothing I did would help, it's genetics, so I asked my family doctor for some medicine it was trial-and-error finding a medication that worked best for me, you have to keep going, trying, and pushing through side-effects for the results you want, and in my experience that is the only way you will get rid of your acne. This medication burned, was itchy, made my skin really dry, and bleached all the sheets and pillows and despite it all it was completely worth it because within 4 months my whole body was completely clear, sometimes I get small pimples here and there, but my body hasn't been this clear since I was 14. Also, the itching, dry, and burning sensation went away for me after a while and I've been using this medication since June 2021 and now it's June 2022. I feel so much better about my face, and my body, I feel like I don't have to be afraid to go outside or hide my face anymore. Read More Read Less

I did not have severe acne, it was mid acne. After juste one day of use, I saw results, after 1 week my skin was almost completely clear, no more hyperpigmentation and my pimples were gone. It does dry out my skin but nothing too bad, I would use cetaphil moisturizer.

I have used Taro-Clindamycin/ Benzoyl Perioxide Gel for years. In my teens I would get boil like acne and started using this product. It will dry out your skin and make it itchy in the beginning. I remember it taking a few days to two weeks before I noticed a difference. It will tie die pillow cases. It was one of the only things that helped. Now in my thirties, I use it only for spot treatment when I break out and heals quickly. I use Cetaphil moisturizer both in the morning and night along with Cetaphil gentle cleanser once a day, I would only use Clindamycin in the evening and not when outside in the sun.Read More Read Less

Works really well if you keep using it. I stopped for a week applying it allover and instead used it only for spot treatments because allover was making my face dry, but I don't recommend only doing spot treatments because it stopped preventing acne. Bottom line: it works if you keep using it and try a lotion with it if you get dry skin.

The first few days using weren't bad, but after the first week, my face got so dry and extremely itchy. I also had a burning feeling everytime i touched my face! It was horrible, but the doc warned me of this and I kept going. I couldn't wear any makeup during the time period. I finally starting seeing results about 10 weeks later. I've been using for about a year and I have almost perfect skin! I may get a pimple a every few months but it goes away quickly. It has changed my life. Everyone's skin is different, but I'm glad I stuck with it despite the pain the pain the first few weeks. Love it!!Read More Read Less
