I have been given this prescription drug in the past for my 3 year old because of coughs, colds, sinus, etc. It has worked well in most cases, but believe the effectiveness wears off or decreases after time. My child had a pretty bad cough with a cold sometime ago and the Dr. resorted to take her off of this and use Rondec, which has done wonders. The generic prescibed was Quartuss Syrup. Again, it worked for awhile and had been prescribed in the past, and was effective. However, it just didn't seem to do the job on the all night coughing! Read More Read Less
