Pemetrexed/Long Half-Life NSAIDs; Diflunisal

How the interaction occurs:

NSAIDs and diflunisal may prevent your kidneys from removing pemetrexed from your body.

What might happen:

The amount of pemetrexed in your body may increase and cause more side effects than normally expected.

What you should do about this interaction:

Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know right away if you are taking any NSAIDs or diflunisal. Your doctor may want you to stop taking your NSAID or diflunisal for a few days before and a few days after your pemetrexed treatment. Your doctor may want to change the NSAID that you are taking.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
