How the interaction occurs:
Bile acid sequestrants may prevent your body from absorbing mycophenolate.
What might happen:
The levels of mycophenolate in your body may decrease and the drug may not be as effective.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medications together. The doctor may want to check the levels of mycophenolate in your blood, or you may need to stop taking your bile acid sequestrant.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
