Quinidine/Selected Azole Antifungals

How the interaction occurs:

When quinidine is taken with some antifungal medicines, your liver may process quinidine more slowly.

What might happen:

Your blood levels of quinidine may increase. This may cause serious effects on your heart and may affect your hearing.

What you should do about this interaction:

Contact your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) as soon as possible about taking these two medicines together. Let your doctor know right away if you experience dizziness, fainting, an irregular heartbeat, or changes in your hearing.They may already be aware of this drug interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not stop, start, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
