How the interaction occurs:
Delavirdine may speed up how quickly your body processes lovastatin and simvastatin.
What might happen:
The level of lovastatin or simvastatin in your blood may increase and cause muscle problems.
What you should do about this interaction:
Contact your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) as soon as possible about using these medicines together. Your doctor may want to change your cholesterol medicine while you are taking delavirdine. If you experience any muscle pain, flu-like symptoms, or have dark colored urine while taking these medicines together, contact your doctor right away.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
