How the interaction occurs:
Quinupristin-dalfopristin may slow down how quickly your liver processes cyclosporine.
What might happen:
The amount of cyclosporine in your blood may increase. If the levels of cyclosporine in your blood are too high, it may damage your kidneys.
What you should do about this interaction:
Make sure that your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Your doctor may want to check the amount of cyclosporine in your blood more often while you are taking this antibiotic and for a while after you stop taking the antibiotic. Your doctor may need to change the amount of cyclosporine that you take while you are taking this antibiotic.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
