Ioflupane I 123/Dopamine Transporter Binders
How the interaction occurs:
Ioflupane binds to dopamine transporters in the brain. Other medicines that bind to the same place can affect how well ioflupane binds to these receptors.
What might happen:
The results of your scan may not be accurate if you are taking other medicines that bind to the same area of the brain.
What you should do about this interaction:
Make sure your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know what medicines you are taking before your ioflupane scan. Your doctor may want to change your medicine prior to your brain scan.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it.
