Black Eye Directory

A black eye is a bruise to the eye that is often caused by trauma or injury to the eyes or another part of the face. Though sometimes a black eye goes away on its own, any eye bruises or swelling should be seen by a doctor to be sure no serious skull or eye injury has occurred. Applying ice or something very cold to the eye to reduce swelling is the main black eye treatment. Follow the links below to find WebMD's comprehensive coverage about how a black eye is caused, what it looks like, how to treat it, and much more.
