Other Conditions With Symptoms Similar to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Other conditions may have symptoms similar to carbon monoxide poisoning. These include:

  • Viral infections, such as the flu.
  • Migraine headaches.
  • Food poisoning.
  • Mental illnesses, such as anxiety or panic attacks.
  • Transient ischemic attacks (TIA) or a stroke.
  • Heart problems such as chronic heart failure or arrhythmias.
  • Colic (in an infant).
  • Injury to the brain or spinal cord (nervous system).
  • Seizure.
