Want to make a sensation at your next cocktail party or get-together? Bring a platter of bocconcini! This tasty marinated mozzarella is easy to put together a day or so before, and trust us, you won’t be bringing home leftovers.

Adapted from The Joy of Cooking

  • 1 cup
    olive oil
  • 2 cloves
    garlic, thinly sliced
  • 12 
    black peppercorns
  • 3 large sprigs
    fresh rosemary
  • 1/4 teaspoon
  • 1 pinch
    red pepper flakes
  • 12 ounces
    fresh mozzarella, cut into 1-inch cubes, or bought in small balls
  1. Place olive oil in a medium skillet and warm over medium heat.  Add the garlic, peppercorns, rosemary, salt, and red pepper flakes.  Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature.  Remove the rosemary sprigs.
  2. Place the mozzarella in a medium bowl and pour the oil over.  Let stand at room temperature for several hours or cover and refrigerate for up to 4 days.  Bring to room temperature before serving.
