George A. Sample, MD, FCCP

George A. Sample, MD, FCCP, is a graduate of George Washington University Medical School. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Oregon Health Sciences (UOHS) and pulmonary critical care medicine at UOHS and the University of Southern California.

Sample has been practicing since 1976, the last 12 years in Washington, D.C., at the Washington Hospital Center, selected as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States. Sample's practice specializes in the care of critically ill and injured postoperative patients. Sample's interests also include end-of-life issues, advanced directives, and furthering organ procurement. Sample is also a clinical associate professor of medicine at George Washington University Medical School and is a fellow in the College of Chest Physicians.

Sample recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (an international society comprised of critical care practioners) for his role in patient and physician advocacy.

Sample is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine.
